The Cafeteria refers to Caltech's cafeteria where Sheldon, Leonard, Raj and Howard often go for lunch and sometimes breakfast, along with others. The cafeteria is seen in many episodes. Sometimes, significant events occur in the cafeteria, such as the introduction of Dennis Kim and the addition of Leslie Winkle to the Physics Bowl team of Leonard, Raj and Howard.
The Cafeteria contains a number of vending machines, including one that contains chocolate milk that attracted Dennis Kim ("The Jerusalem Duality"). There is also a 'COLD Drinks' machine, which is the same model as can be seen in the bowling alley in "The Wheaton Recurrence".
Penny and Amy spy on Sheldon and his new assistant Alex Jensen and see her flirting with Leonard in the cafeteria. Alex also hits on Leonard while he is having lunch there in "The Higgs Boson Observation". Penny is seen flirting with David in the cafeteria. Amy is seen when she is first shown around the campus and she breaks up with Sheldon and several times once she starts working at Caltech. Sheldon makes significant announcements to the Caltech staff in the cafeteria and has walked through it wearing Bernadette's maid costume so that he could meet Stephen Hawking.
