Youth Pastor Rob is the youth pastor of First Baptist Church of Medford and teaches Sunday School.

The church sought a new youth pastor, so they put out a call for new people at the Southern Baptist Convention. He answered the call and interviewed. He answered the question that he likes Judas and that doing unconventional stuff would get kids interested in Christ. Amazed by his outside the box thinking, Pastor Jeff Difford, Peg, and Mary Cooper hired him to teach the children. However, Mary Cooper was a little reluctant because she didn't think teaching the kids that Judas was cool was a good idea. His first Sunday School got the kids' attention and is an instant hit among the children, including Billy Sparks, Missy Cooper, and Sheldon Cooper. Snoopin' Around and the Wonder Twins of Atheism

Over the tenure of his time, he got himself to be on good terms with everyone. A few times, he helped out Mary when she needed it. He had talked with her in the church parking lot while smoking.

He had the habit of smoking cigarettes, which he knew was unhealthy.

He was the first person told by Mary about Georgie's act of getting Amanda McAllister pregnant, shocking him.

One day while going to teach the kids in Sunday school, he saw Missy Cooper punch a boy after saying bad things about her family. At a meeting with him, Mary, George, and Jeff, he was not happy when Jeff decided to force Mary to go on a leave of absence from her church, under the rationale that church leaders have a higher standard. He had developed a liking for bowling and went to the bowling alley; he was a frequent customer that Brenda Sparks noticed. He started dating Shannon Dixon and brought her to the bowling alley; at the time Mary worked there after her dismissal and she greeted him. He introduced Shannon to Mary. He met with Mary over lunch at Lulu's Corner Cafe. He updates Mary on the church; with her departure, the church management has turned into chaos. He had been offered a job at First Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas, and was seriously considering accepting the job. He asks for her advice, and is told to follow his heart to where it leads, but he does not know where. He later follows her to Medford Community Hospital and talks a bit, but watches Mary and George have an argument about suspected affairs. (A Launch Party and a Whole Human Being)
