Iain Armitage portrays Sheldon Cooper on the series Young Sheldon. He also had a brief role in The Big Bang Theory in Sheldon's recorded pep talk in The VCR Illumination.
Biography[]
He was born to parents Euan Morton and stage producer Lee Armitage. His mother put her producing duties aside and lived in Los Angeles with her son while he built his career. He had developed a passion for acting; he was allowed to pursue it as long as it did not negatively affect him. He had gained roles in Big Little Lies, a substantial part.
In 2017, he auditioned for Young Sheldon by giving it his best; At the tie, he was at his grandmother's home in Savannah, Georgia, and auditioned in his Christmas Best. Iain called that recording not professional but it caught the attention of casting agents, where he California where he talked to producers. He later got a call saying he got the job.
Afterwards, he got to meet his on screen twin actor, Raegan Revord, and made videos to each other.
He lives in the Ashton Heights neighborhood of Arlington, Virginia, USA. Because of his acting duties, he is homeschooled and likes Tae Kwon Doe. One of his favorite places to eat is the restaurant Rus Uz at 1000N N. Randolph Street, Arlington, Va, where it serves, Russiand Uzbek cuisine. [1][2]
Ahead of the premiere of Season 7 on February 15, 2024, he gave an interview with Entertainment Tonight, online. He said "I don't think you can wrap up a seven-year experience that has been as wonderful as this."[3]
Over the years, he had an on-set teacher who taught him stuff between filming. His teacher was Maura Gannet, who taught him since 2017.
He gave an interview to People.com. When Netflix re-released Young Sheldon in November 2023, it found a new audience. It surprised Iain Armitage. He knew the moment it was a hit because a friend told him so. He says he felt hoored by the praise. [4] Between takes, he had learned in education plus his llve of langauges promted him to learn Arabic. [5] He had basiclaly grown on the CBS sitcom and said if he can keep the brains from his character, he would be happy, and calls himself a nerd. [6]
