Though he grew up in India, Raj stated he never learned Hindi. Like many in India, English is his first language.
- In "The Hamburger Postulate" (S1E05), in the recreation game of Battle of Gettysburg, Raj introduces two Hinduism deity, Shiva and Ganesh, and claims that at the end of the battle, Abraham Lincoln would be speaking Hindi and drinking mint juleps.
- In "The Vengeance Formulation" (S3E09), Raj speaks a long Hindi phrase "Fever 104, आज के नए अच्छे संगीत का घर" (pronounced as "aaj ke naye acchha sangeet ka ghar"), which he explains as "Fever 104, home of the really good current music", and says "it's much catchier in Hindi".
- In "The Psychic Vortex" (S3E12), Raj speaks a Hindi phrase "जो जी करे, कर" (pronounces as "jo ji kare kar" ) which he explains as "whatever floats your boat", when he find that Sheldon is learning Finnish.
