Jana Boggs is a student and cheerleader at Medford High School and Georgie's ex-girlfriend.

Jana first appears in “A Live Chicken, a Fried Chicken and Holy Matrimony” when Georgie returns home with a girl and takes her to his bedroom. When Meemaw questions why George isn't in his son's bedroom, George claims he's just thinking about what to say. When George finally goes to talk to his son, he tells Georgie to keep the bedroom door open and sit on the floor, not the bed. As Meemaw asks if George has had “the talk” with Georgie, George doesn't even want to think about having this talk. Meemaw says it's important he knows about protection, else he might get that poor girl pregnant and ruin her life. When Georgie comes out to ask them to keep it down, Sheldon tells his brother he has a bone to pick with him for taping over his Star Trek episode. After Jana tells Georgie that she's going home, Sheldon talks to her in Spanish, as she's in his class, but she doesn't have a clue what he's saying.

While Jana and Georgie are talking on the phone, Mary picks up the phone in the kitchen, she is surprised to find Georgie on the line, but she keeps listening. Jana says her father is going to be out of town this weekend and asks if George wants to come over. Georgie says his parents wouldn't let him go if her folks aren't there, which gives Mary a short-lived sense of relief. Georgie then says he guesses he doesn't have to tell his parents. This leads to Georgie getting mad at Mary when he finds out she spied on him. (Pasadena)

While Georgie and Jana go out on a date, they run into Veronica who is working as a waitress in order to save money for college. Jana is jealous and believes that Georgie still has feelings for Veronica. She later gets over it however and continues dating him. (An Academic Crime and a More Romantic Taco Bell)

Jana gets the feeling that Georgie isn't as committed to their relationship as she is. At a school football game, Jana tells Georgie she's the only cheerleader he should be looking at as she notices him watching the squad. As they make out in his car, Jana tells Georgie she could kiss him forever. After Georgie says that's kind of a long time, Jana asks why she keeps getting the feeling he's not into this. Georgie says he's into this, while Jana waits for the “but…” When Georgie explains they're young and they don't know what's going to happen, Jana says they should know. Georgie insists there's no reason to feel bad as he doesn't know lots of stuff. Georgie wonders what he said to upset her as Jana cries. Jana feels she's not enough for him, but Georgie argues he didn't say that. She wants him to admit he wants to date other girls. Georgie says he doesn't want to date other girls instead of her, just in addition to her. Jana tells him to drop dead and gets out of the car. As Georgie drives alongside her to make sure she gets home safe, he offers to buy her a Blizzard if she walks to Dairy Queen. (A Couple Bruised Ribs and a Cereal Box Ghost Detector)

Georgie lives inside the van despite being attacked by a rat. However, he does agree to sell it once Jana's father sees the bed and refuses to let his daughter ride in the van.

Jana gets a pregnancy scare and goes to the ballard's store, she gets a pregnancy test and informs Georgie about it, while Georgie waits a long 10 minutes, Georgie imagines them having a shotgun wedding and twins to boot. They're both relieved when the test comes back negative. (A Musty Crypt and a Stick to Pee On)
