Betty is the aunt of Howard Wolowitz and may be the sister of either Sam Wolowitz or Debbie Melvina Wolowitz. She and her husband Elliot are coming from Palm Springs, California for dinner at the Wolowitz House to supposedly meet Howard's girlfriend, Dr. Stephanie Barnett, though Stephanie is not interested. By Howard's marriage, she became an aunt-in-law to Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz. The result of such union has led to her becoming a great-aunt to Halley Wolowitz.
