Summary[]

Georgie worries that he's leaving Connor out of his new project with Jim. Meanwhile, Mandy and Audrey struggle to decorate CeeCee's nursery without fighting.[1]

Plot[]

In the McAllister home’s living room, Audrey says she wants to take Constance to the mall today. Mandy ios fine but says she should get her ears pierced. Mandy objects to it, and says it would be the final thing that will ever happen. Georgie comes out back saying he fixed the sprinklers, because he broke it while mowing the lawn. He also asks about the Old Mustang in the garage. Mandy says her dad bought it at an auction years ago. Georgie suggests they fix it up, and Audrey wants her garage back, and would give Georgie half if they fix and sell it. In the garage, jim says they will have to fix a few things, including dead rats. Georgie is more confident about fixing it. At work, Georgie called someone for a water pump, but someone wanted to buy it off the seller for $20 more. Georgie calls Jim and talks about it, and he offers $50 more. They would get it.

At the Mcallister home, Audrey talks about the Friends show and complains about the enormous amount of coffee and how it may be a “New York thing”. She then says she misses Bill Cosby’s show, which aired from 1984 to 1992.

In the garage, Georgie and Jim are talking while they are sitting in the convertible car, and Jim is drinking. Georgie is impressed at the stitching, wondering if it is leather, but Jim says it is naugahyde. Mandy walks in and asks if they are working, but is not impressed, saying dinner is ready. She walks back in and Audrey realised they are drinking, and that they should never had let him have a small fridge. Audrey said his father tried to do a lot of things to engage with Connor but ended up giving up on him. She then suggests changing her home office into a room for Constance.

Jim and Georgie get to work to fix a water pump. Connor comes in and Georgie asks him to work, and connor replies with “Thank you for the invitation”. Georgie tries to get him to come out but gives up immediately.

Georgie later sings “soft Kitty” to Constance so she can sleep; Mandy is appreciative of the gesture.

Georgie knocks on Connor’s door and talks to him in his room, and invites him to join Georgie and Jim on a road trip to Plano so they can pick up a part and goads him into doing so. Audrey is very appreciative about Connor getting included. Jim is nervous about the room getting changed into a nursery. In the dining hall, Mandy is talking to Audrey and had magazines so they wanted ideas to design the nursery; it included a potential dream library so Constnace can be inspired and learn more. Audrey later on is apologetic to her, and had high dreaqms and ambitions; she had ambition to work in politics in Washington D.C. as the Chief of Staff to President Lyndon Johnson, who is also from Texas. However, she married Jim and opened the tire store, and settled down. Mandy was surprised that her mother was a Democrat but Audrey retorts that she was young once too.

During the trip to Plano, Connor listens to his music on his walkman. Georgie talks a bit to him, but is rebuffed as Connor is typically disinterested. In the end, Jim expresses to Georgie that he thinks Connor is a disappointment. They end up buying the part and go home. At home, Connor tells Audrey that Georgie is a good man and they had a good time overall. This statement is a shock to Audrey, who thinks a lot about it.
